The Hague, March 19 (IANS) The Netherlands' Health Minister Bruno Bruins, who had fainted in Parliament during a debate on the country's preparation for coronavirus, on Thursday resigned from his post.
Bruins had collapsed from exhaustion during the debate and the sitting was immediately suspended. Later on Wednesday, Bruins had tweeted that he had fainted because of "exhaustion and intensive weeks" but planned to get back to work on Thursday.
The reason for his resignation is not yet clear, the BBC reported.
Another 18 people have died in the Netherlands in the past 24 hours, taking the toll to 76.
