Historical Event on 3/17/1999
An international seminar on UN Peacekeeping was co-jointly hosted by Ministry of External affairs and Ministry of Defence at New Delhi from 17 to 19 March 1999. The seminar was conducted by HQ Army Training Command, Shimla on behalf of the Indian Army. A total of 126 foreign delegates from 71 countries participated in the seminar.

12/23/1912	Rash Behari Ghosh and Sachin Sanyal threw a bomb at Viceroy Lord Hardinge II in Delhi. He had come to Delhi on an elephant for the initiation of the new capital. The Viceroy was injured in the bomb blast.
6/25/1975	President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed signed the declaration of Emergency Rule in India. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi implemented the same very next day.

5/28/1966	B. S. Chawla was appointed as the Narcotics Commissioner of India. He headed this office till 21-02-1973.
